GAG Christmas Lunch 2007
Date: Friday 14 December 2007
Venue: Members' Dining Room, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA
Speaker: David Dimbleby
Sponsors: Electus
That highlight of the festive season, the Government Affairs Group Christmas lunch at the House of Commons, was once again a tremendous success, with tickets selling out well in advance.
In GAG's 20th anniversary year we were delighted to welcome one of Britain's foremost broadcasters, David Dimbleby, as guest speaker.
As well as presenting shows such as Panorama, Question Time and the BBC's general election night programmes, David has set up a cancer charity in memory of his father, Richard Dimbleby, seen by many as Britain's finest ever broadcaster. Dimbleby Cancer Care celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2008 and we at GAG were proud to be supporting it at our 20th anniversary luncheon, alongside our traditional fundraising for development projects in Africa. We hope to post information about some of the charity work achieved with GAG donations on this website at some point.
Thank you once again to Electus for their sponsorship of the lunch, to Elizabeth Brogan and Laura Webb, in particular, for their work organising the lunch, and to the Commons Refreshments Department for their part in making the lunch once again an outstanding success.
